Turn down the lights, light a candle

From Yahoo.com:

According to research by Brian Wansink, Ph.D., director of the Cornell University Food and Brand Lab in Ithaca, New York,
Bright lights can raise your stress levels, ramping up your appetite and causing you to eat more quickly, . The result: You end up finishing off a mega portion before it has the chance to feel satiated. (it takes about 20 minutes for your stomach to signal your brain that it’s full). For the best lighting over your kitchen table, swap your light switch for a dimmer.

What not to do: Dangerous wedding crasher edition

Every year celebrity brides find more ways to have lavish, over-the-top, ridiculously expensive weddings. And for our very first "what not to do" bride we have...Katy Perry.

One of the most gossiped about wedding in recent bridestory, Russell Brand and Katy Perry wed in a colorful Hindu ceremony at the Aman-i-khas resort on the edge of a nature reserve. The only thing she did right was have only 85 friends and family in attendance. The bride started off in a blue sari, but was said to have made many changes during the day.

A man-eating tiger was attracted to the noise and the lights of the wedding and tried to crash it. It was finally beaten away by guards as it tried to jump a third wall just 50ft from the newlyweds and their 85 guests.

So brides, please don't make the same mistake as Perry. Be mindful of the noise and bright lights of your wedding. You might have to worry about more than just the cops.

Alone but not Lonely

And now for something completely different. A woman in Taipei is making wedding plans to marry herself. She plans to spend only $5,000 on her wedding making her a true Cheap Wedding Diva.
From DBTechno.com:

In one of the more interesting weddings to date, Chen Wei-yih will officially get married to herself.

The 30 year old office worker from Taipei says that she has not met the man of her dreams and is now facing a lot of social pressure to tie the knot so this is what she is going to do.

“Age thirty is a prime period for me. My work and experience are in good shape, but I haven’t found a partner, so what can I do?” Chen said.

“It’s not that I’m anti-marriage. I just hope that I can express a different idea within the bounds of a tradition.”

Her wedding will cost T$50,000 ($5,675) complete with a flowing white wedding dress and an elaborate wedding cake.

She will even treat herself after her big day to a honeymoon in Australia.
